After your group has completed all expectations through week seven (7), it is time for your group to register with the National Office. The MAV Chapter Registration Form gathers information on the lead contact, advisor (if different from contact), and chapter officers to ensure that we have an accurate picture of your chapter’s potential. You can either

Raise the visibility of the organization throughout the campus and community.
Raise awareness about the importance of violence prevention.
Gain support from students, faculty, and staff throughout the university.

Once you turn in your registration form, and receive receipt confirmation, you will receive information on dues. Below is the dues payment schedule:

It is now time for you to consider Banquet logistics. Some of the questions to answer include:

Who is our target audience and how many people do we expect?
What are our audio/visual needs? Will we need a sound system or other equipment?
Will we have food or refreshments available? Door prizes?
What will the setup look like (i.e., round tables, head table, food setup, etc.)?
Are there any special guests we want to invite (e.g., University President, local rape crisis center Director, etc.)?
What are the best ways to advertise and reach the community?

National dues are used to develop the organization’s work by providing resources, such as the organizing materials attached here, and other administrative costs.

Once you complete all registration requirements, your chapter will be notified of its acceptance. It is also important to mention that we encourage you to contact the National Office even before your group registers. We would love to provide advice, support, or feedback throughout all aspects of your planning and organizing.
